I am excited about a few things, and thought that you should know about them.
1) There is now a shop in Portland that carries Umi Sling! Yippeee! I am so excited, but between you and me, the self-doubt and worry over putting my product out there continues to choke me up a little every day. I force myself to move forward, because MOVEMENT is my word of the year, and every time I turn around, people I admire are writing about how to NOT live out of fear. So I'm giving the big ol' middle finger to fear and continuing to press on, recognizing that I am my own worst enemy.
I know it seems like this "follow your dreams" bandwagon keeps going 'round and 'round the track, but I guess we as humans, me as a human, needs to hear it over and over. Actually, it's funny that this isn't really my dream, but it has become something of a passion and I'm grateful that it's all about the journey. Does that make sense? I make my plans, but I can see time and time again how God directs my feet and I end up in places I never expected.
2) I have had the best and kindest feedback from you all about my More Milk, Naturally eBook. Seriously, every time I have doubts about it, I literally get an email that day about how the book or my 31 Days to Making More Milk series helped someone. So thank you. And I'm so, so glad it's helpful. This spring, I'll be consolidating the series into an eBook, too.
I wanted to continue doing this important work and found that I was bookmarking recipes in my mind saying, "that would be a great lactogenic meal, I should have put it in the eBook!" but really don't have the mental reserves right now to revise or even write an addition. So, what I can do is share my recipes through a food blog, still titled the same as my eBook. More Milk, Naturally is dedicated to quick meals, snacks, and advice (although not medical advice, I'm no doctor) to help you support and boost your supply using real food. I've only posted three recipes, but I'm committing to posting one new recipe per week. And even if you're not breastfeeding, this is great food for growing families and busy moms, so come on over.
Do you have a favorite lactogenic meal/snack that you'd like to share with others on the blog? Please email me and I'd be glad to have you share it with everyone! Email me at meg(dot)kimmelshue@gmail(dot)com.
That's all. I'm grateful to have the continued support of my web/IRL friends and family and I'm truly thankful for you. You know who you are.
And here's a cute picture from my parents visit this past weekend. Grampy and his girls eating breakfast together.

OK, I JUST NOW realized that the Umi Slimg is YOUR product. I thought it was just an organization you were involved with. So cool, friend! John and I are so very proud of you! Keep doing what you're doing, giving the middle finger to fear if you have to ; )
ReplyDeleteSo excited to see your product being sold in Portland now AND that you're blogging about food. I just know this information will come in so handy if and when God blesses us with kiddos.
Hugs!
Dana
